Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation, also known as breast enlargement, is the surgical placement of breast implants to increase the volume and projection of the breasts or to correct significant asymmetry between the two breasts.
We can:
-
Enlarge naturally small breasts
-
Restore lost breast volume after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss
-
Achieve better symmetry when the breasts differ in size and shape
The procedure
During breast augmentation, the implant is inserted in front of or behind the pectoral muscle through a small incision, usually in the breast crease. This choice is discussed with you beforehand and depends on various factors: whether there is sufficient natural breast tissue, family history, and personal preference.
The procedure is always performed under general anesthesia and takes about an hour.
After the procedure
The incision from breast augmentation surgery will be covered with a waterproof bandage, and you will be given a special support bra that you must wear day and night for one month. This provides proper support for the breast and helps minimize swelling. If the implant was placed behind the muscle, you will also be fitted with an upper band.
Once you are awake enough to leave the recovery room, you will go to your room in the day clinic. You may go home the same day, but you must have a driver!
We will provide you with a letter containing tips and instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.
The suture - a fine continuous thread - will be removed after a week.
The result
The result is immediately visible, although you should take into account that the swelling of the first few days will still decrease. The longer you have the implants, the more natural your breasts will look.
After a few weeks the breast will look and feel natural again.
The scars will fade from a pink line to a thin white line.
